I Was Featured On Birthdayshoes.com!!!!

This was very cool!

I sent a message to Justin, owner of www.birthdayshoes.com, saying that I had spent the entirety of PAX in my Vibram Five Fingers Speed LS.  It may have taken a bit to finally see the end result, but Justin pulled through and posted.  I'm psyched about it!

Helping a "Brony" Out.

My roommate is a fan of My Little Pony.

Are you finished? Go ahead and catch your breath.  It's okay, I'll be right here.

He happens to enjoy the show because of Lauren Faust.  Back off.   He's not hurting anyone even himself, in spite of what some of you may think and it puts a smile on his face.  He's collected the ones that have both plastic and real brush able hair.

Think of it this way, I'd rather him binge on that instead of working on a cocaine nose job, binge drinking, selling other illegal substances and bringing strange women over for wild crazy monkey sex.

Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

At around 10:45 PM Monday, I sat down to make a Cutie Mark for his brony pony, Galileo.  I actually tried a technique I saw Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade and "cell painted" his pony.  It turned out far better than I was expecting.

I then watched as he creatively applied the mark to the pony in a "make-your-own" pony creator.

Not to toot my own horn, but damn, it looked good. :P

When I have more time, I think I'm going to ink and color a "portraiture" of his Pony.

Don't look at me like that.  What?  I'm a cosplayer, with more wigs than a straight guy should.  I've dyed a perfectly good martial arts uniform pink before (Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter),  painted my face and hands entirely white to go for a "bishonen" look of a character from Sorcerer Hunters.  I've spent nights before conventions combing out the hair on them to try and get the right look.   As far a collecting things go, I've collected everything from the mundane to the inane.  From Magic The Gathering, Comics,  Halo Mega Bloks, to plush Stitches.

Let he who is without geek cast the first stone.  The Lord will forgive me the creative licence.

Weekday weekend

So far today so good.  I had a lot more sleep than I've been getting. My job seems to be going smoothly and to top it all off, Monday has been made the awesome Friday day of my week.  I'm hoping to work on this blog and finally get my DeviantArt page up and going.  All this stuff takes hard work. Don't get me wrong, it's worth it but definitely hard work.

Old hat, new time

Hey all,

Today I started a new shift at work (I'd tell you where, but I'd have to unleash the hounds, ninjas, etc to vanquish all who know where.) and decided to update.

Some things I've noticed already about this.  I don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn...more directly, between the hours of "Oh God-thirty" and "You gotta be kidding me-o'clock".   I've never been a morning person, voicing my oppinion that the day shouldn't start till noon and that everyone should be nice and inobtrusive till then.  I believe famous cartoonist Jim Davis penned "If we were meant to pop out of bed in the morning, we'd all sleep in toasters."  Not just pretty words.  :)

The nicest part of this has to be that I can live my life closer to my natural circadian cycle and stay up late.  I've missed playing on X-Box Live with my best friend (and brother from another mother) Jon.  It also allows me to help out with stuff in my family as well.  Family is very important to me, and this allows me to be more flexible with my time and do that.

I'm also trying to do more artwork.  I'm working with Disciple Training at http://www.discipletraininggear.com/ to make shirt designs, setting up this blog and getting more sleep.

This is turning out to be a very exciting time. :D
